The Left Has A Ground Game. Republicans Have a Golf Game.

While the establishment GOP was hosting donor retreats, sipping Chardonnay and snacking on cheese plates at the Capitol Hill Club, the radical communist left was building a political machine—precinct by precinct, neighborhood by neighborhood, election by election.

They collect ballots and put them in boxes.

Republicans run TV ads.

Who do you think is winning?

Look at what just happened. A 29-year-old Bernie Sanders-backed democratic socialist-communist Melat Kiros, just defeated a Democrat who had been in Congress longer than she’d been alive. In Denver. Not Brooklyn. Not the Bronx. Denver—the American West.

Before that, Zohran Mamdani and his socialist jihadist foot soldiers ran the table in New York while Andrew Cuomo sat on nearly $40 million and collected every endorsement money could buy.

Forty million dollars.

The New York Post. The New York Times. Labor unions. Political insiders. Establishment support.

And he still got smoked.

Let me say what the GOP consultant class refuses to admit.

Money alone doesn’t win elections anymore.

Organization wins elections. Volunteers win elections. Door knocks win elections.

Neighborhood captains win elections. Money only matters after you’ve built a movement.

Mamdani had an army of volunteers knocking on doors while Cuomo had a checkbook.

Guess which one won.

Steve Bannon—the populist firebrand of the Right—is sounding the alarm. He calls these victories “flashing red lights.” He says the old politics is “burning to the ground before you.”

He’s right.

This is the Democrats’ Tea Party moment—except this movement isn’t rooted in limited government. It’s a socialist movement wrapped in the language of compassion and economic relief.

And Republicans still don’t have a compelling answer.

Too many Republican leaders still think celebrity television appearances are a political strategy.

They explain why socialist promises won’t work while working families wonder why nobody is explaining how their lives will actually get better.

Do you really think a single mom in Petworth wants another lecture on supply-side economics?

Do you think a young couple priced out of buying a home or paying rent in Washington DC wants another white paper from a Washington think tank?

They want relief. Now.

If Republicans don’t offer it, the left will promise it. The giveaways are already piling up. Case in point: Texas Democratic nominee for governor, state Rep. Gina Hinojosa, is promising every Texas resident 18 years old and over a $1,500 check. She says it’s coming out of the state’s rainy day fund. It’s a rainy day in Texas for people suffering, she infers. Most every democrat is now promising free child care, free rent, free health care, free college, etc.

Whether those promises are economically sustainable years from now isn’t the immediate political question.

Winning today is.

Here’s the truth the country club Republicans refuse to face:

You can’t beat something with nothing. You beat phony populism with real populism. Populism that puts working families at the center.

That’s why I’ve been arguing for a DC Rent Relief Act that would allow working families to deduct their residential rent from their taxes. Pair that with a tourist tax rebate that shifts more of the burden to visitors instead of residents and you have a real affordabiliy plan for residents.

Call it whatever you want. The point is simple. Voters want solutions—not lectures.

The Republican establishment better understand something, and fast.

The politics of endless H-1B visa expansion, bad trade deals, Wall Street bailouts, offshoring American jobs, endless foreign interventions, and defending the permanent bureaucracy and loser U.S. Senators who do nothing are losing their grip on the voters Republicans need most.

The future belongs to a movement that delivers better jobs, higher wages, affordable housing, and economic opportunity for working Americans. It puts the American dream within grasp.

Steve Bannon has warned that today’s political transformation is happening much faster than many Republicans realize. He argues the radical left is “playing for keeps” and believes it can achieve lasting political dominance within the next three to five years if Republicans fail to adapt. He nailed it.

Whether you agree with every word or not, dismissing that warning would be a mistake.

Because one thing is undeniable.

The left has a ground game.

The establishment GOP has a golf game.

One side is building neighborhood organizations. The other is building donor- cocktail party lists.

One side recruits volunteers. The other recruits consultants.

One side is building a political machine. The other is protecting the country club.

The extreme communist-jihadist left understands that elections are won long before Election Day. They organize precincts, recruit candidates, mobilize volunteers, and turn supporters into votes.

They gerrymander maps. They put ballots in boxes.

Republicans had better learn that lesson—and fast.

Because after Denver, the old playbook isn’t just outdated.

It’s losing.

After Denver, talk is not only cheap- it’s finished.
