MTG Not Running For GA Governor

Georgia firebrand congresswoman puts up blistering FB post blasting GA’s “Good Old Boy” cabal.
Here MTG’s Post:

Marjorie wrote this on her FB page:

I’m always dismayed by constant rumors about me and people who claim I am doing things, yet have not spoken to me about anything I am doing or not doing.  If you have not heard it straight from me, then it is likely not true.

If I was running for governor the entire world would know it because I would be all over the state of Georgia campaigning, I would have ads running, I would be raising scary amounts of money, and I would literally clear the field.

Just to remind everyone, the first time I ran, as a complete political outsider in 2020, I ran against 8 well respected men and beat them all, easily finishing off the last man by double points in a run off.

I did that and won the primary and runoff without the coveted Trump endorsement.

I am humbled and grateful by the massive statewide support that I have to run for Governor, and if I wanted to run we all know I would win.  It’s not even debatable.  And only because of that massive statewide support is why I ever considered it in the first place.

You see, unlike most, I’m not about chasing titles or grasping for more power despite what people, who don’t know me, think about me.

If I am going to do something, I do it, and I am all in.

And it is for the right reasons.

However, I have a different perspective of the entire 2026 campaign cycle ahead and the fragile state of Republican control in Georgia. My perspective is rooted in my relationships with real people and Georgia businesses, issues I know are important that are being ignored, and has nothing to do with the 30,000 foot view and stupid polls from the out of state consultants that get rich every cylcle whether we win or lose.

Georgia is long controlled by the good ‘ole boy system and that very established “Men Only” Republican firm is unfortunately over seeing the slow slide from red to blue.

The “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” wheeling and dealing at the hunting clubs and country clubs does not reflect the sentiment and issues of the vast majority of Georgia voters.

As a matter of fact that good ‘ole boy system is where many of our state’s good hearted donors are misled cycle after cycle to support candidates who offer lukewarm platforms that never address the real issues plaguing our state.

As a woman, none of this appeals to me.  As a mother, none of this appeals to me.  As a lifelong Georgian and business owner none of this appeals to me.

And believe me, if none of it appeals to me, there is a lot of women who agree with me.

The state of affairs in Georgia concern me and I will leave it at that.

But just know this.

If I were running for Governor, I would have a platform and a detailed plan, much different than the others, that would save our sweet home state of Georgia, our precious hardworking businesses, and give our much loved children a bright future.

That would be for every Georgian, not just Republicans.

And one day, I might just run without the blessing from the good ‘ole boys club or the out of state consulting leaches or even without the blessing of my favorite President.

One day, I might just run purely out of the blessing of the wonderful people of Georgia, my family and friends, but it won’t be in 2026.

In the meantime, you’ll find me in the beautiful hills of Northwest Georgia and fighting with all my might in the House of Representatives for the people who elected me.

Colonial Heights Police Crack Down on Illegal Neighborhood Slot Machines

In case you missed it, Colonial Heights Police and the Virginia State Police took decisive action on Friday to protect public safety, raiding three shops suspected of operating illegal gambling machines and seizing narcotics from two of the locations.

All three shops were found to be running illegal neighborhood slot machines.

Colonial Heights’ Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Noelle Nochisaki said her office had received complaints about the businesses that were raided:

“If any citizen or business owners see illegal activity or something that is concerning to them, they should contact the police department so they can act upon it, if necessary,” said Nochisaki.

Wherever these illegal machines pop up, crime tends to follow. These aren’t harmless games. They’re magnets for criminal behavior, and they don’t belong in Virginia’s neighborhoods.

That’s why this enforcement operation matters. It sends a clear and welcome signal: Virginia is serious about cracking down on illegal gambling and the problems that come with it.

We applaud the Colonial Heights Police Department, Virginia State Police, and the Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney for their strong coordination and leadership. Their actions reflect the kind of proactive, community-first approach that Virginians deserve.

This is a win for public safety, and we encourage continued enforcement across the Commonwealth. Illegal gambling machines have no place in our local businesses and it’s clear that when law enforcement acts, our communities are safer for it.
