McLaughlin Poll: Trump Gets Biggest Numbers, DeSantis Falls Again

In the aftermath of U.S. President Joe Biden’s re-election announcement, the results of our just completed national poll of 1,000 likely voters (+/-3.1% at the 95% confidence interval), show that currently former U.S. President Trump receives his best results for the year to date. The poll was done between April 24 and 28.

Trump remains the front-runner.

As predicted in our March poll, the Joe Biden-Alvin Bragg indictment backfired, and Trump has increased his lead over the Republican field, holding his general election lead over Biden.

Also, the Biden re-election announcement was anemic.

Among potential Democratic presidential challengers in the primary, Biden gets only 25% of the vote. Michelle Obama receives 15%, Kamala Harris 8%, Bernie Sanders 8%, Pete Buttigieg 5%, and all others less.

Biden’s best primary is no primary.

That’s what his campaign is working toward.

The highest percent of Republican primary voters to date this year, 65%, want Trump to run again.

Now that he is running again, among Republican primary voters, they would support him 79% to 18%.

This gives him more room to grow.

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America

“I am pleased to see that Vivek Ramaswamy is doing so well in the most recent Republican Primary Poll, CBS YouGov. He is tied with Mike Pence, and seems to be on his way to catching Ron DeSanctimonious. The thing I like about Vivek is that he only has good things to say about “President Trump,” and all that the Trump Administration has so successfully done—This is the reason he is doing so well. In any event, good luck to all of them, they will need it!
