Lt. Governor Evette Pushes the Senate to Pass Redistricting Bill

Lt. Governor Pamela Evette urges the State Senate to “act decisively and move this legislation forward without delay”

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) — Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, the leading candidate for governor and a Day One supporter of President Trump, submitted written testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee today, urging senators to swiftly pass the congressional redistricting bill.

The letter reads:

Mr. Chairman and members of the Senate Judiciary Committee,

Thank you for the opportunity to submit testimony in strong support of the congressional redistricting bill passed by the House early Wednesday morning.

House Republicans did their job. They listened to the people of South Carolina, defended election integrity, and advanced a map that reflects the values and priorities of our citizens, not the demands of the far left.

Now it is time for the Senate to finish the job.

In 2024, South Carolinians overwhelmingly rejected the failed Democratic leadership under the Biden Administration and put their trust in conservative leadership to stand with President Trump and push the America First agenda.

The people of this state expect Republicans to govern with strength, urgency, and conviction. They do not expect procedural delays or political hesitation while the Left wages nonstop legal and political warfare to undermine conservative representation.

This fight is bigger than a map. It is about whether South Carolina Republicans will stand firm against a coordinated effort to weaken conservative states, dilute the voices of our citizens, and interfere with the will of the voters.

Democrats and their allies have made it clear that they will use every tactic possible, including lawsuits, media attacks, and procedural maneuvers, to stop this effort because they know strong conservative districts threaten their political agenda. Republicans cannot afford indecision or weakness.

The Senate must act decisively and move this legislation forward without delay. I urge the Senate Judiciary Committee and the full Senate to use every constitutional and procedural tool available to ensure this bill reaches the Governor’s desk. South Carolinians are demanding leadership that fights back and delivers results.

Gov. McMaster and I have stood with President Trump from Day One in defending election integrity, protecting conservative values, securing our borders, growing our economy, and advancing policies that put America first. Passing this redistricting bill is another critical part of that fight.

We must pass this bill swiftly, stand strong against political pressure, and show the country that South Carolina Republicans are prepared to lead, fight, and win.

Sincerely,
