Just The News: Trump Rips Biden and Military Leaders ‘Television Generals’ Over Afghanistan

Story courtesy of Just The News.

Former President Trump on Wednesday ripped President Biden and his top military leaders – whom he called “television generals” – over their handling of the United States’ departure from Afghanistan and also took aim at fellow Republicans.

“The most incompetent thing I’ve ever seen,” Trump said of the new administration’s withdrawal of American troops and civilians before an Aug. 31 deadline, “having the military leave before the civilians and all sorts of things.”

The former president, whose decision about whether to run again in 2024 will be influenced by how Biden withdrew U.S. troops, said he had the situation in Afghanistan under control while in the White House.

“I can’t tell you how strong we were just prior to that when I was there,” Trump said in the wide-ranging interview on Real America’s Voice that lasted for nearly an hour, during which he also discussed his 2020 election and other pressing issues.

“We bombed the hell out of [the Taliban] in the area,” Trump continued. “And we came to a very conditional agreement.”

“We had them in great shape,” he added. “I said, ‘If you kill an American soldier or an American it is going to be a bad, bad week.’ “

Trump was also critical of Biden’s top military leaders whom he holds responsible for reportedly leaving behind hundreds of thousands of pieces of U.S. military equipment.

“I call them the television generals,” he said. “The ones you see on television have been horrible. But we have great generals.”

Though Trump was critical of Biden and his administration, he was also critical of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a fellow Republican who recently voted with Democrats to help the chamber pass a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.

“Mitch McConnell is a disaster,” Trump told RAV interviewer John Fredericks. “You mentioned the infrastructure, all he wants to do is survive and be good to China, because he has a lot of business in China with his family. Mitch McConnell should not be the leader. He’s done a terrible job.”
